I am really curious why my truck reads the harness as a trailer and knocks out the safety tech. DD assured me this was solved, and others seem to not be having this problem any more- or are you?. Maybe I got an old pre-updated harness? DD customer service has not been helpful so far.

Hey there!
Have you given our team a call or currently emailing a customer service team member?
I will be happy to assist to the best of my abilities!
Just an update on my situation. I did finally get a response from DD customer service, and they indicated they are working on determining why it is setting off my truck to thinking I have a trailer attached. I guess it works with some Superduty versions but not with others- maybe it sets off those trucks with the blind spot safety stuff? I am hoping they can develop a harness that works but so far no luck. Be aware it might work and it might not depending on how your truck is equipped, and that DD is aware of the problem. If they get it resolved I'll report back. At some point I'll have to move on, though.

I am having the same issue, I have a 2016 F-150 with the Pro Trailer Assist and it gives me warning messages as soon as I apply the brakes and goes back and forth between detecting a trailer. I just received mine 2 days ago and haven't started the process with DD customer service yet, but at least I'm not the only one experiencing issues.
DD has not been able to correct the issue for my truck, so I will be returning mine. It works for some, and I really hoped it would work for my truck, but it seems there are still bugs to be corrected depending on how your truck is equipped. I'll look for other options, I guess. I really liked the simplicity of the adapter that goes between the truck's wiring harness and the bumper plug, but not worth losing all the other tech.
