Good comment above from John. I installed a drop down box attached to the right frame rail. When I went to install the battery into the box, I actually had to use jack stands to raise the vehicle enough to crawl under the running board and use a floor jack to lift the battery high enough t drop into the box. I have jump start posts under the hood in case they are ever needed. They also double as trickle charger connections. My drop down box is from a 2003 Econoline aux battery that was used on very few Econolines.
Joe, same here... I actually fabbed up a "lift thingy" that attaches to my floor jack to raise the battery/tray up to it's ride position. 75 years and two bad shoulders
and a 40# battery do not work well together.
and ditto on low rides...jackstands are your friend.
I put my charging posts on the front cab mount.. easy to access with full tilt hood.
