I know this has been posted before but cannot find posts. My block has the regular cracks between the head bolt and water jacket. Can I have them fixed ?
The pictures are not very clear but the cracks are the same as we have all seen.
Yes those are readily repaired. Just an FYI...Kelly's Block Welding has been around for decades (Kelly himself use to do my dad's engine work on his racing engines back in the 1940's!) The shop was passed down to Kelly's son Dennis who sold it to one of the machinists that worked for both of them!!!!!

They have welded up my aluminum cylinder heads, etc.!
Generally those cracks don't need to be fixed, providing they don't extend into the exhaust passage (for the center ones). My engine has similar cracks and has been running just fine for 17 yrs. When I had it rebuilt, I asked the machinist if he thought they were worth stitching, he said not to bother if they hadn't been leaking.
BJ yes I am going to sell it. I found another that is running I get the engine stand and all. I is set up and has radiator and all. I just turn the key and it goes . I pulled the heads off the old one in my shop to check the stroke and check on cracks. So far only the cracks between the head bolt and water jacket. You need to buy it.
Engine looks good! A lot of that dark coloration will depart after it is hot tanked. As was said above, you wanna for sure convert to the roller cam. Also you might want to look at some good aftermarket heads. You don't haven to go extra spicey, but you can sure get a decent amount of power out of that block for the same gas milage.
