Hydroboost question
Have a 02 f350 7.3. Had power steering one day and next none but have good brake pedal. Could I have blockage at hydroboost stopping fluid to gearbox? Help please driving me crazy.

Have you done anything to power steering system recently? Do you know what fluid is in there? If braking is not affected and you haven't opened up the system I'd bet your power steering pump is not producing enough pressure.
You could try flushing it and making sure you have tranny fluid (not power steering fluid) in there to see if anything changes as a first step.

There are 2 return lines on the pump reservoir, one from the hydro the from the gearbox via the cooler. Which one is carrying the majority of the fluid? If it's the booster then something is preventing it getting to the gear. If it's coming from the gearbox then probably time to replace it. Don't recommend getting a parts store replacement either. A lot of folks here have some bad luck with them. There are also a few upgrade options out there to. Some are remanufactured units that have been internally upgraded others replace the box w/ a later model Super Duty.
