ICP problems
i’ve ran the wire and made sure there was no damage in any of the harnesses. But I have read that if I unplug the map sensor it will go off of default data ?
I unplugged the map sensor and the truck ran fine, then plugged it back in and it did the same thing p2285 and also p0237 for the map sensor. I cleared the codes and unplugged the map sensor again and truck ran fine.
Has my map sensor gone bad and that’s why I keep getting p2285 and can’t drive the truck or idle it ?
Can you explain what you mean by "you ran the wire?
Do you have a way to read your v-reference voltage (I assume you do since you are reading the codes)?
That said, you can check the v-reference voltage (key on) with a DVOM
The MAP and ICP v-reference are from the same PCM supply.
The MAP and ICP signal return are on the same PCM ground.
You may have a bad MAP sensor and it could be corrupting the v-reference circuit or affecting the signal return (PCM ground). I suppose it could also be the MAP connector. Inspect that connector and post up what you see.
Do you have "backprobe pins"?
For the MAP sensor:
The brown wire with white stripe is the v-reference supply voltage (circuit 351) - connects to PCM plug C1381a, pin 45
The gray wire with red stripe is the common signal return (ground) (circuit 359) - connects to PCM plug C1381a, pin 33
The light green wire with the black stripe (middle wire) is the signal wire
C1381a is the left plug.
