Basically i am going through MAP sensors left and right, i have to pick up another one today which makes for my third MAP in about two months. Now is there something that i am over looking? Granted i am pretty green when it comes to the electrical parts on my truck, but i am not dumb enough to realize that something is wrong. Looking for advice.....Thanks!!!!
I figured you would be the first to reply, couple ways. First, the way that the truck drives, the bucking, quick surging of the idle when at a stop, and if the idle doesn't surge, it will stay around 1200-1500 rpm, which is very wrong for my truck. Second i run the testing proceedures from both a Haines and Chiltons guide. Third that is what my code reader tells me
Yes it does, and i have been getting them from Autozone, and different ones at that, meaning different brands. Just to see if i can weed out maufacturers.
No i haven't, to be honest the sensors are kind of expensive for me so the free replacement at autozone (with receipt) is an outstanding offer for me. But i will try to get a ford one this time. Is there anything else that i should look in to?
Are the voltages at the sensor plug within spec? I have to say I have never replaced a MAP sensor on any Ford vehicle I have ever owned, so either you have a high voltage at the sensor blowing these or they are just junk to begin with.
Voltage is usually below the specs, only on the first one was the voltage really high and out of spec. But i am starting to think the parts are just just, but i like to eliminate any other issues first.
