Hey guys I’ve developed an intermittent problem after poking around looking for bad connections to my speed sensor.
My truck will intermittently get stuck in overdrive. The OD light will flash but not store any codes that I can find with Forscan. When I go to accelerate from a stop the truck will barely move but as I get to higher speeds where it would shift into OD it runs fine. If I manually shift into 1st then 2nd then OD it will accelerate fine but never shift again once put into drive.
I know that no electrical power to the trans shift solenoids could result in this condition. Where would be a good place to start looking for the issue. I’m convinced it’s likely wiring near the fuse box. There’s blue tape on the loom leading me to believe that perhaps it’s been cut into.
I also removed the plug that goes through the firewall and up to the interior fuse box and gauge cluster and removed the gauge cluster to test the psom for my Speedo issue.
Any help or direction is appreciated. Truck is running great right now but I’m worried this issue will emerge again.
