Curious about the 6.2 Gasser in the Superduty trucks. Don't hear too many complaints on reliability of them, which is a good thing. Next truck will be getting back in to a fullsize, would like a gas HD 4x4.
For those that run an F Superduty with the 6,2, would love to hear your review on it. No interest in a diesel, and the new 6.8/7.3 gasser is more than I want to spend
I love mine! My daily driver until a couple months ago (got a beater car). Tows my equipment trailer all over the Appalachians with cars, trucks, and my skid steer on it with ease. Best gas engine truck I’ve ever owned so far.
Best truck I ever owned in my life... Only 2 complaints...
1; gas mileage sucks.
2; shifting parameters of the 10 speed suck, probably 1/2 the reason the truck isn't getting as good gas mileage as it could when loaded, or empty even. JMO
EDIT; I have no problem with the trany skipping a gear shifting up but the not shifting down sooner happens, loosing speed, and... then shifting 2 gears happens, that is where the fail starts, as then it needs to make up the speed and gas mileage suffers, usually shifting 1 gear down would have worked.
'Probably" because people would be whining about the trany never staying in one gear and it's shifting, always shifting, ya, it's a 10 speed, going to shift more often to keep the engine in the sweet spot than a 5 or 6 speed, that is where the advantage of having the 10 speed comes into effect, but not if it shifts like a 5 speed, often only using only 5 or 6 gears... Pet peeve...
I like mine but like the other comments MPG is not very good. I get 8-9 towing and 14-16 empty/around town. My dealer told me he has several customers that have 200K miles plus with no issues on their SD with the 6.2L.

14-16mpg around town is really good, I doubt a newer PSD does much better.
2013, 90,000 miles.
Air filters, oil changes, one set of spark plugs,
coolant flush. Plugs were like new.
ROCK solid engine!
6R140 is no slouch either.
Coil-on-plug coil packs corrode inside but can be refreshed with a $10 AC Delco kit, easy to remove them all(couple minutes a pack). That's the only complaint if I had one. Mileage? 12ish unloaded combined. Towing and plowing it's terrible as expected. The 6 speed trannys are bombproof and the engine is one of the most reliable to date in a gas truck.
My husband ordered the 6.2 because of the reliability and didn't think we'd need diesel. Gets around 15 mpg unloaded. Towing was 9-10. Unfortunately, he found a toy hauler he really liked and the '22 is for sale and we've ordered a '23.
There you go, buy the '22 above! Mine was as reliable as everybody else's, sold my 2012 with 200k to our son, he is still driving it. It was his first truck, after many cars, he loves it. Can't go wrong with a 6.2 truck IMO. Of course I thin the 10 year newer 7.3 is even better... so far.
Had the 6.2 in the 2017 with the 3.73 . Absolutely no problems. When I traded in the 17 for the 21, I went with the proven engine and transmission again, This time with the 4.30 gears. I didn`t care about the potential difference in gas mileage between the 6.2 and the new 7.3. But, also I didn`t want to take a chance on a new engine and transmission at the time. I have been pleased with my decision.

Both trucks are gorgeous. Thats exactly what I am looking for, a supercab.
2017 F-250 here with 48K and no complaints so far. 6.2L engine, 6R100 transmission and a 3.73 rearend. If you keep it under 60 on a flat road with no wind you can eke out 17.5mpg.

Just the two of us since the kids are all grown. I have no need or desire for a crew cab. The back of the 17+ SD is pretty decent, way better than the previous generation. Same room as most mid sized sedans in back, I have had 6+ footers back there with no complaints. Super Cab short box is the sweet spot for my needs.
