I haven't been here in a while, been busy working ARGH..... I am planning on putting a JBA headers on the V-10 on Monday with a new 'y' pipe. I had a hairline crack in the right side exhaust manifold and it was $800 to replace and $420 to install. The JBA headers were $1,200 installed, no brainer here. I also ordered the superchip tuner, hopefully this package (with an existing K&N FIPK) helps the power with the 5ther behind.
The shop that doing it is going to give me the before and after dyno results from the rear wheels, I willpost when available.
Who has had success with the JBA's?? I am packing up the wife and kids and heading out of Vegas to Texas for a 12 day trip next week and just wanted some assurance that this package will help the haul.
PS - The 5ther has never been passed up by a Chebby.... NEVER.
PSS - I forgot how cool this site is and how much information is availble from you guys. Your ROCK!
I have some shorty headers that are pretty much a replica of JBA'S.Also the superchip tuner.Nice results with the headers, now i have true duals with no y-pipe or cat, so my results may be different from yours.Read my post "MY HEADERS INSTALLED"
Also check my gallery for pics of my headers.Be glad someone else is installing them.

12 days in the sun Vegas to Texas ? Wow, being from Washington state, I can only imagine such a concept, and in the winter, unimaginable, totally unimaginable. Sounds like a gas though.
Got back from Texas early December and forget to update the form on how the JBA headers and supership made out. One word AWESOME. The truck just wouldn't give up on any grade or weather. I pulled a 26-ft 5ther at appox. 9000 lbs and no problem. The dyno on the truck was approx. 169 lf-lbs at the rear wheels prior and 209 ft-lbs after. Major improvement. The superchip made the powerband work much better pulling and took away ALL of the hard shifts. After unhooking in Texas I drove from Dallas to Austin (200 mile) and back and kept a speed of 75 mph. My fuel mileage was 14.2 at the pump and calculated, the best I had seen prior was 12.8 mpg.
I hate the small tanks on the SWB so I added an aftermarket 30-gallon Tool and Fuel in the bed and plumbed it to the main gas tank. It is controled by a toggle switch on the dash. Now I can pull the 5ther 500 miles and not have to stop, my wifes and kids hate me......
PS: Texas seemed to be Dodge country as far as RV pulling down the road. I seen alot of them and waved as I passed........ Big ***** Eating Grin.
Goood deal! Glad you could make it back and gave us some feedbak how everything worked out. I knew u would like em when I started readin your thread. Nice to get some dyno #'s too. The only Dyno-Jet machine within 200 miles of me can't take a CC LB. BTW, You didn't happen to go thru N.M on your way to Texas did u?
I drove I-40 all the way through N.M. I am going to make the trip in February again. The only thing about N.M. was that most of the gas stations did not allow you to purchase over $50 of fuel on one credit card. My truck now holds 58 gallons and that equates to $75.00 in fuel. I know it is for safety so I live with it.
What? I never heard of that. $50? I only have a 38 gallon tank. I was puttin in less than $50 though on my last trip to LA xmas week. I went the south route. I-10. Did you stop on the reservations for gas? I hear their cheaper. Able to skirt around the taxes. You sure are brave goin thru Flagstaff and N.M. on I-10 in February. U prolly know. Any hint of ice and they shut her down. At least in this state.
Most all gas stations (at least in the west) limit purchases to $50 or less! I get around this in my Excursion by going to Costco where the gas is cheaper and they don't shut off the pumps.
You can also go inside the station, give them your card and ask them not to turn it off until you're full up.
