Basic mods?
In the 7.3 forum, we had a bunch of simple mods for air intake, fuel tank issues, added filtration, and other things that just improved on some of the ford fails.
Or are we just at the point where cost and inginuity take beck seat to blowing money to make others think we're rich? lol
Diesels used to respond dramatically to mods, that was before they got loaded down with emissions equipment. Nowadays you can’t trade, or hardly sell a deleted diesel.
And, all in all, times are changing. People just aren’t modding new/late model vehicles at all like they used to. Most here are happy driving their stock trucks. Costs waaaayyyy less in the long run.
Just replaced the suspension on my truck with Eibach coilovers and new upper control arms up front. Now I need new wheels and tires. Ahhh, the slippery slope. The engine is still stock though, and it will remain so until something breaks. That’s how I do my mods, when something breaks or wears out, I replace it with a better product if one is available. I don’t replace stuff just because it’s “stock junk”. My factory shocks were shot and the upper ball joints were getting a little creaky.
You might also start reading through the sticky thread called What did you do to your F150 today? There are a lot of posts in there about simple and easy mods and maintenance.

I’m going though the tire decision process too. Not sure where I’m going to land on that.
I have done a lot of mods inside my truck that were just about comfort and function. I'm not sure that's what you are seeking. Mine include tinting the dash so it gets darker on night trips. I coated the bottom of my air vents so they don't reflect sun at me and painted the silver center console black for the same reason. I added a tiny red led that shines down in the center area of the drink holder area. I added charge cords routed through the center console to keep things clean looking and added the Rubber Made tote inside the console. I also changed out the light in there. That's off the top of my head. They were all very cheap to do and made living with the truck easier.
