My hubs failed to unlock (randomly) and I replaced them with Mile Marker manual hubs. Not quite as nice as Warns, but vastly cheaper. To me, it's well worth manually locking/unlocking the hub for the security of knowing exactly what state it's in.

That right there is reason enough to NEVER rely on anything "auto" actually doing what it's supposed to.
I vividly recall as a kid being the "auto hubs" for my dad and grandpa. I was also the TV remote when dad wanted to see what was on one of the other 2 channels.
I wonder if technology has advanced enough for us to make an electrically actuated locking hub with a remote. I hesitate to use the term Bluetooth because that has a whole other meaning in truck circles it seems. Bluetooth final drive
