*Blue spring mod
*New injectors around 265k Ford Remans
*New waterpump at 280-just a "stock" one
*250 amp alternator around 250k(other one was good-just wanted more amps for my 1500 watt inverter)
*Atlas 40 FICM at 200k
*New turbo at 290k-stock unit
*when I bought it, I backflushed the oil cooler and put in ELC coolant and filter-change filter about every 15k miles
*Mobile 1 synthetic 5W40 and Motorcraft filter every 5000 to 5500 when towing alot, or 6500 when not towing-never an issue.
*ALWAYS let it warm up before driving! Never drive without temp gauge to at least the first "mark" then baby till warm.
Have a mild 5 Star 50 HP tow tune on it always. Get about 18.5 to 19.5 MPG solo and 11MPG towing our 9500 pound camper. Deltas maintain around 10 ° solo and 12° towing. Monitor with Torque Pro. Stock EGR, nothing fancy done to it.
Sure its been work, but I'm coming up on 300k. Cant complain!
And the '03 cam profile is supposed to be the bad one for the ramp. Maybe not.
I don't think the '03 had all the high pressure oil leak issues either, but did have injector issues along with the pilot injection, but most of those had that feature disabled early on.

Not the same plumbing design of course, except for the cups in the rails fitting over the injectors. The initial injectors had a spring seating issue if I remember correctly. I was told back in the spring of '03 that was worked out and my May build would be fine. The later model years had the coating that reduced wear. The compensation programming can adjust if you have a mixed bag of the better injectors, or just run the newer style all around. Some trucks have the better HPOP with the wear resistant rear plate. I still have my Pilot Injection.

Interesting that you still have Pilot Injection. How many miles did you get out of your original 03 engine and why did you have to do a rebuild?
I lost the original engine possibly due to glow plug failure (best guess on dealers part looking at the cylinder with a scope) and glow plug would not come out. The injector came out fine for the borescope and it’s tip was good.
Ford dealer installed reman was a POS build and a connecting rod bearing about to go at 75k, so it was disassembled and gone through.
Historically, my idle time has been very low, the only time pilot injection would be activated. 85% of my miles are parkway/interstate, no city, and the rest light traffic suburban.
