Ford Finance question

I see Ford advertise 2.9 for 60 months on 22 F150s. Do they negotiate or are these type offers fixed? Are there better offers based on credit score?

I'm pretty sure they do not negotiate but I would check the local credit unions.

Local options are all over 4%, even CUs.

Around here, the Ford credit promotional rates that they advertise, are not something you can negotiate on, since they are already promotions. And as you noticed, they apply to certain models and model years only. These are a way to clear out old stock right now, which is why you can get such cheaper rates on in-stock 22's instead of an ordered '23.

They do NOT negotiate, and that rate is based on stellar FICO score. Otherwise, it only goes up from there

I actually got 0% for 36 months back in Oct.

Doesn't need to be stellar, I got 0% 72 months before the inflation started hitting bad and my score was only like 670-680

Just a few years back, one could get a discount for financing with Ford. One time my discount was $500. and another time it was $1000. The loan could be paid off at any time with no penalty. Was that a bargain or was it not? Paid it off early and your total cost of the loan was just a few dollars

I did it in 2020 when I bought my Explorer. I financed through Ford credit and before the first payment was due, I refinanced through my credit union and took their $1000 to the bank.

Admittedly Ford credit was pissed. They sent my title to the wrong location which delayed the payoff from my CU which ended up costing me a late fee that the CU was nice enough to add to the payoff check. This all happened without my knowledge but we settled it in short order and now Ford credit can kiss my ***.

My credit score is over 770, a lender will either work in my favor or they won't but if they don't, they won't be asked again.

F150's are down to 1.9% 60 months currently (at least in TX).

As others have said, the rate is non-negotiable for promotion due to ford buying the points on behalf of their captive lender, ford motor credit.

Ford credit doesn’t use FICO as the reason for approval, they use a custom score card which includes local trends and other consumer information along with your personal credit history.
