Here's what I have - Mustang front end with big block engine mounts, MF tail housing c6 cross member. Do I still need the cross member for cab/frame/running board twist/roll ? If so, I need ideas for a removable one.

if your question is, do you need a cross member where the original one was just in front of the front cab mounts, the answer is Yes.
Not every member that goes across the frame on the 53-56 F-100s were considered “cross members” by Ford. Ford’s literature shows 4 cross members on those F-100s. Ford has a cross member at every factory leaf spring mount. These cross members attach at both flanges and the web of the C channel.
The cross member, on my truck, just in front of the cab was removed by the PO when he installed a FE engine. This helped cause the crack in the frame behind the right cantilever cab mount.
Having a removable cross member in this necessary location is a big plus. There are many different ways to do it, I have a couple pictures on how I did it on my build thread.
