With a few exceptions, like our friend in Germany with his Merc, there is not much going on here in FTE land today. Fortunately there's some talk about Bullit's car on the vintage pics thread.
So, I took Old Betsy out for a drive today.
My wife ordered an artificial Christmas tree on sale after Christmas. She didn't like it. Free returns, good thing.
I sold my CR-V last month. My wife's Honda van is in the body shop.
Now get this! I am "buying" a 2023 pick-up truck. This is a big big deal for me. I bought a new vehicle only once. That was back in 1984. Since I sold my CR-V and am selling my F350, I will use this new truck as a truck and a daily driver. It will arrive the 2nd week of January. The dealer gave me a 2020 Toyota Corolla as a loaner until my truck comes in.
It's a nice car but I don't like it. It sits so low. It's hard for me to get in and out of.
Anyhow, the tree box had to go to the UPS drop-off place. The box did not fit in the trunk nor the rear seat. So I got old Betsy out and hauled the box with her. It was just above 32° so I was careful not to drive through puddles that were probably loaded with salt.
I haven't been out in the world in almost a week. My wife and I both came down with Covid on Xmas eve and we've been isolated. I'm not doing bad, although cleaning up dog poop in the yard almost killed me, my wife is suffering more.
But talk about bored? I'm going crazy here, someone tell me what life is like outside please!
I think everyone in the south enjoyed a nice day of thawing out and getting fresh air/sun. I am about to rebuild a generator, restore a gauge cluster, and finish a 7ra distributor setup on the sun machine. Just having too much fun outside the last few days to work on any of it.

And then he'll toss us all a curveball at Truckstock by taking us up to Hyner view the back way.

Wayne, you're a good detective. The Corolla loaner was the tip off
it is a Tacoma SR5
Access cab with fold down seats in the back.
6 foot bed
Hopefully it will fit in our 18' driveway. 4 door would have been longer. Truck is 212.3" long
V-6
4x4
Tow package
All the other bells and whistles that modern vehicles have.
Abe, it's not too late to update your order and switch colors to that green. If the dealer was nice enough to give you a loaner for two months.....they will revise the build to
Army Green - color code 6V7. It's a nice color that your son will someday have in the background of his family's Christmas card photo. Think ahead....
Why did I say two months? Has anyone here actually received a new vehicle on order at the time they promised it?
