When I first got my truck the factory shift **** was cracked and didn't take long for me to take it off and replace it with some cheap parts store shift ****. Well the cheap parts store shift **** fell off so I bought another parts store shift ****. And it has fell apart as of about an hour ago. It keeps getting loose so I decided to really tighten it down and well, I stripped the aluminum threads right off of it. I tried loctite on my last shift **** but for some reason it does not hold on these coded aluminum junk shift *****. I didn't try it on this one but I figured it wouldn't work because of my lack of success on the previous one. Instead I decided to crank it real tight and we see how that worked out.
I regretted this for not just that reason but also for reason of it really hurt my wrists to do that at the awkward angle that I grabbed it at. My wrists have been a real booger lately.
Anyway, I'm tired of these parts store shift ***** falling apart someone wanted to go back with an oem. I tried to find one on Amazon but they were all cheap aftermarket ones. Is anybody know if the OEM shift ***** are still available? Or am I stuck with these Chinese aftercrap? Or is there potentially a better option?
I tried tightening down my current shift **** again and as soon as it starts to get tight you feel that also painful righty loosey. For some reason righty Loosey does not always mean Lefty tighty.
Used Cowboy’s part number and found some over on eBay. Of course this also pulls up all the aftermarket replacements. Didn’t look too deeply but this one says OEM and the seller has 100% positive feedback.
Get you one of these bad boys and you won't have to worry about the **** coming off since you won't be able to reach it.
Modern problems require modern solutions.

I also won't be able to use reverse or first due to hitting the steering wheel
I should also mate another transmission up to the back of mine while I'm at it and have two shifters both of them being that tall. With all those millions of gears I'll be able to tow the world
I installed a T-handle shift **** on my lever about 8 years ago and it is still doing well. It looks a lot like the one below. I paid like $10 for it at Advance Auto at the time. I "fabricated" a method for it to mount securely using the lever splines and the T-handle threads. Still looks and works great. It is stainless steel or brushed aluminum looking, not chrome.
It also serves as a theft deterrent system for those that are unable to drive a manual transmission. Kind of like "The Club", but for the transmission. Choose something you like and take some time to develop long lasting and solid method of installing it. I seem to remember you having a revolver shift handle or something like that at the Oct 2021 GTG?

These are real comfortable. Ran one about 10 years ago on a 6 speed truck. No slip grip for power shifting.
