throttle cable

I have a 460 and the throttle cable seems to stick alot especially when it sits for a few days. I grease and lubricate it all the time but occasionally when driving it, it will stick, does it sound like I need a new cable or could it be somehting else?

I would start with the cable, but it could be the gas pedal sticking on it;s pivot, or it could be worn out. It could also be the throttle plates sticking.
