Unlike many here; I'm not brand loyal and I still own 5 Dodge/Rams. I almost bought a Power Wagon last summer....my thoughts;
- those "issues" you mention with the Ford? forget them, they all have issues of one sort or another.
- The PowerWagon is awesome offroad - the best offroad HD truck ever built, better than a Tremor for true offroad use
- The weaknesses of the PW are easy to identify; The 6.4 is weaker than the 7.3, there is no diesel option and the payload is absolute CRAP.......less than many half tons.
It all boils down to usage; if offroad is truly what you use it for then keep the PW......if you ever tow or haul anything more than a tent trailer, I'd get the Ford.

midsize trucks or even things like the Hyundai Santa Cruz trucklette equal power wagon payload. It’s hilarious actually.
I always look at it as if you are happy with it, why change it? If it does all you need it to do, why change it? If it is a matter of not affording it, keep in mind equity or lack of it on trade or sale. If you owe more than can be received, that just adds to the lower priced truck.

If payload is the end all of truck specs then we should all be driving RCLB 2wd gas F350 duallies. everything else is just a joke compared to that configuration.
I think a recent 22 F250 diesel doorjam sticker that I saw, the payload was right around or even under 2000 if I remember correctly.

Wouldn't be hard to do with a highly optioned higher trim diesel 250.

Your analogy is flawed. Why stop there? Just buy a semi?
point being, the PW is considered a “HD” truck so having the same payload as a Hyundai Santa Cruz trucklette is humorous.

Who said it was the "end all of truck specs"? There are PW payloads just over 1200 lbs....pretty bad for a 2500 and far worse than any F250. The PW I looked at had a GVWR of 8510 lbs. Maybe my truck is a joke but my 5,500 lbs payload is more than enough for me.

Defined "flawed" since you are stuck on the payload page and can't move past or around it.
A PW could bumper tow around 10k with two 200 lb guys in it. Can the Korean thing do that? The PW is a tool with a specific use case, if it doesn't fit the payload criteria, there are plenty of Ram 2500 configurations that do better in payload area, including the 4x4 off road trim, I think those have around 2700-3k payload with the gas motor 4x4.

So it has the payload of a Korean trucklette and the towing capacity of a half ton circa 2010 or so.
PW owners better be off road 90% of the time to make that worth it.
I had a Dodge Laramie ordered, which was never getting built - after 12 weeks they offered me a "decent" price on a 75th anniversary PowerWagon...... ended up saying no because it was still $8k higher than my order. Then 2 weeks later I found my F250 on a lot and bought it instead. I do love my Ford, very happy with it. But I also think I would have loved that PW -- just for different reasons. The payload and price were the issue with the PW at the time, but I still thought that PW was super nice.
Basically, I think both trucks are great, both are different, both have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm thrilled with my F250 and still enjoy every trip/tow/haul and drive, but also know I'd have been happy with PW. I'd keep what you have and be happy!
