I just towed my new 5th wheel, 10,000 pound RV with my new (2,800 total miles) ‘22, F350 Super duty, 4X4, 6.7, crew cab Platinum truck. It hesitated from a dead stop as it shifted from first to second, to 3rd gear and slightly to fourth. This doesn’t seem normal to me. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
This happened during going to and returning from, during two separate days. I used the Tow/Haul feature while towing. I’ll try turning it off and on the next time I tow it.
I find mine shift much nicer in the Normal position than the Tow/Haul, especially through the first 3 gears. When I am in stop and go traffic with the RV I find it much better to get out of tow/haul since I never get out of 2nd or 3rd gear and I'm creeping in traffic. Usually I leave it in tow/haul but I find the shift to be a bit harsher than in my 2018. Once past 3rd gear things smooth out.
If you have a passenger with you, have them record a video of the behavior, RPM gauge and the cluster. This way, you will have a video to show the service desk if you decide to take it in.
The engine light just turned on a day after our RV’ing trip, so I will mention the situation to the service tech. I hope he is a good one who knows his stuff.

Did it do this every time?
Did it do it only before it was warmed up all the way?
