04 PSD towing issue
Hey Guys have a goofy question here, when do you use tow/haul mode? I have a 24 ft. boat that I tow and for the heck of it turned on the tow haul mode and the truck acted like a slug and would not shift. Is this feature for towing a house ? Do I need to have my tranny checked out? She just reved to like 2500 and did 40 mph, would not shift into another gear, took out of tow/ haul and was fine.....What gives??

I use my tow/haul when pulling my 5ver and it provides different shift points as well as holding the gear while in traffic. It will also downshift as you brake to aid in stopping. I can stop in half the distance with it turned on. Not sure what is causing yor issue.

you have to use the pedal a little more. Tow haul raises the shift points (like stated before) but if you're cruising down the road and the rpm's are 2,500 it will not shift up if like normally till you hit the programmed RPM.
what does the boat weigh?
maybe if it is over 5,000, you could use the tow/haul mode.

Thanks for your help,looks like the boat doesnt warrant the tow haul mode. I t seemed to stay put in gear like you have stated and i never gassed it more, fearing something was a miss in the tranny. I believe the boat weighs like 4800 lbs. I guess I'll just keep it out of tow haul mode from now on unless I'm pulling a house!!
