Hubcap size Ford f1
So I’m sorting wheels for my 51 mercury pickup. I bought Bob drake mercury hubcaps. They are 8 1/8 flange size. I have now been told that there are different sizes and that they are either inside or outside. So is there a size larger than what I have. Or are they smaller. I am told mine won’t fit on the rims I’m getting, which are original 15 inch big bolt 1948 rims. If I need small hubcaps are there any with Mercury logo. Or am I searching for bigger ones Also different sizes have been referenced as inside and outside mounts. As far as I can tell my 8 1/8 fit inside,as that is how they are held in but also fit bit over the wheel part. So all very confusing.

Lets start with the rims you're getting. What are 15" "Big Bolt" rims? Pictures would be helpful...
On the raised portion around the hub, Ford placed bumps on the wheel both inside the ring outside the ring depending on the year of mfg.
Also keep in mind that stock wheels were either 15" or 16" - they take different caps.
