Hi all I’m looking to tow my 47 Ford pickup on a trailer behind my wife’s 52 f100 to some beach races does any know if the 52 would be capable of towing it both vehicles are standard. Many thanks Asa
Anything pulling the weight of a trailer that can carry a older heavy truck and older heavy truck better have a frame mounted hitch and be setup with electric brakes.
As asked answer the other questions as it will help us help you.
My 81 F100 flare side with a 300 six, NP435 (granny first) and over drive that I can split all the gears and 2.75 rear gear (not the best for towing) is back up to pull my open deck 20' car trailer.
It dose have a frame mounted hitch and electric brakes for when the time comes.
I am sure it will get the job done just not fast. The 300 & granny first transmission has been used in larger trucks.
