Recently (3 months ago) while at dealer for oil change, they also performed a recall update (emissions I think). I never noticed this before the update, but now if the truck sits and idles after first starting it up, after a couple of minutes the idle slowly increases from around 500-600 rpm up to 1000-1100 rpm. I can tap the gas pedal and the idle drops back down to the 500-600 rpm range. If I let it continue to idle, it sometimes increases again. Also seems like the update may have decreased my mileage a little. Maybe the idle increase was occurring before the update, but I never noticed it (and I think I would have). Anyone else seeing this? Is this normal? Regen?
Normal. Search "20E07", it's been talked about plenty over the past year. The impact to your MPG shouldn't be for too long. Several modules get reset and it's believed that a "re-learning" could cause that temporary MPG loss.
There is a Ford SSM (50636) that says in part, "2011-2022 f-super duty and 2016-2023 f-650/f-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7l engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the scr..."

Thanks! Have to admit, I'm a novice at knowing where to look for this detailed info. We left on a trip to western states right after reset and noticed reduced mpg, but wasn't sure if it was due to reset on other factors. It seems to have returned to close to pre-reset mpg based on trip to Florida but possibly still slightly less.
So I have a 2019 f250 and oddly I have not received 20E07 recall notice. I live in California and my registration renewal is up in a few months, January 2023. My smog check will be due (It was not done last year) so should I go to Ford and request "20E07" be done, or when it is time in January 2023, just get the smog done and see if my vin pops up as an emission recall required? Many thanks on your thoughts.

I didn't get a recall notice, but when I took my truck in for oil change the service writer told me about it and asked if they could go ahead and do it.

As far as I know, they didn't start actually sending recall letters to owners until recently. I think it’s in an effort to get those truck in. Prior to just recently the only way owners (including myself) were aware of this recall was either by internet chatter, the dealer bringing it up during a service visit, or the dealer just doing it without notice during a service visit. Like many others I never had this recall listed anywhere, not Fordpass, not the Ford owners site, and never recieved a letter.
I did have it done and IMO, there is nothing to worry about. My curiosity however would like to see what happens if you don't do it prior to your smog check.
