So far on my 2011 I have 35 engine idle hours n 155 regular hours at 4,200miles and I dont really let it idle at all....is it considered an idle hour if your not going a certain speed????...how many hrs do you guys have???
i have 48 idle hours and 244 regular hours.
I think it counts when your going zero mph as idle hours. like if your stopped at a red light or anytime the wheels aren't turning and the motors running.
Equates to a vehicle MPH average of 35.5. If I were looking at purchasing a previously owned diesel I would do this calculation. A vehicle MPH average of less than 30 would indicate lots of idle and city driving which is not necessarily the optimum operating condition.
