Folks,
I have a 1983 Ford Econoline Full Size 1 ton van (E350) equipped with a 460 V8.....This is a completely stock vehicle that I have owned since 1991.I need to replace the tailpipe.I have searched online and it looks like I need Walker PN 46521.The problem is every retailer that has this part listed is out of stock....So my question is there a universal pipe that I can use instead and if so can you provide me with that part number....If possible can you provide me with a listing of stock part numbers for the entire exhaust system ....Thanx in advance..............VSR
Is it broken at the muffler? Measure the diameter of the hole coming out of wherever it broke off. Match it up with some pipe. The muffler and cats probably have a part number but the pipe sections are just pipe sections. With exception to y pipes and manifolds. Those are usually vehicle specific. As long as you can mate them together with one of the various clamps available. Or maybe it has to be welded. Know anyone with a pipe bender? This old timer I know said he’d fill pipes with sand when bending 90 degrees so the pipe wouldn’t crimp. Just have to get creative
Check later E350 exhaust. I think the E350 had a 460 option through ‘96 before going modular. Even the exhaust of a modular (5.4/6.8) might work with minor modification if pipe diameter is the same.
