Keep the money in the bank and live off the interest. 1% of 750,000,000 would work for me.

I didn't win the Lotto... I took Rob from the city's advice and didn't buy a ticket. I'm money ahead..

-Edit- I just relized that the drawing is tonight. OK, well maybe I will buy a ticket.

What about tax? $750,000,000 carries a tax liability as gambling income. If you plan on living off interest, that's also taxed.

If you do have a winning ticket, let your heirs cash it under their names. At least that way, there won't be inheritance and estate taxes when the money passes on. This way, they won't plot on killing you to inherit. With any luck, your children and grandchildren will do the right thing. Not just shove you into a nursing home.

That's why I will not buy a ticket. I don't need to live in fear of friends and family trying to kill me.

Nobody won again. New estimated grand total is in the neighborhood of $1.9 billion now. It speaks LOUDLY to the long odds that no one has won it in something like 3 months.

Here's a concept. Buy all the possible combinations. That would cost you 292 million X 2 = $584 million.

Keep the change.

The math makes sense. Can it be done? You need to fill out 292 million tickets. Then find a store to sell and print them off. Allow time for the clerk to collect $2, then process the sale. Also have cash in hand ready. The printer runs out of paper, and that adds a few minutes. What's the math on 500 million minutes? The bank opens tomorrow morning at 9. I wonder if my branch can arrange for that much cash.

It's like the Seinfeld episode where they calculated the recycling value across state lines.

Raising Cane. A fast food chain which sells chicken fingers.

50,000 employees. The boss bought $100,000 in lottery tickets. 1 ticket per employee. He did that twice. Spent $200,000 on lottery tickets. The employees aren't any better off.

I say we chip in. A Nor-Cal chapter pool. I've got eighty five cents. If you guys can come up with the balance for the other $600,0000,000.00, we're in the money. I'll start filling out the pick your own number tickets with every variable of all the numbers.

Maybe get a million people to coordinate the purchase of 292 tickets each, then agree to split the winnings a million ways. $1.9 billion divided by 1 million gets $1900 each. Not as rich, but still a win.

1 to 2 minutes to collect $2, put your ticket in the machine, then a ticket comes out. 292 variables. The math boggles the mind.

GlueGuy, how much rain has fallen?

If it weren't for the light drizzle, I would be taking my anger to the streets. A protest march, unlike any ever seen. They can't do this to us. Powerball to the people!

My friend's son has now moved on from the Navy to United Airlines. He took these pictures of the SpaceX launch from Vandenberg last week.

We got almost 3/10" yesterday (0.28 actual), and so far today we are at 1.91". That is 2.19 for yesterday and today (so far).
