Hey guys,
I usually post on the older truck forum, since I have a 68, but need some opinions on the 1990 F150's, especially supercabs.
I have a chance to buy one of these with an 300 I-6, XLT Lariat package, and 130,000 miles on it.
Are these trucks sound? Any persistent problems known? Are they easy/reasonable to maintain? Would appreciate any input.
The truck has 2 dinky faults: needs a new turn signal cam to shut off the left blinker; and the volume surges on the factory AM/FM Cassette unit. Any ideas on the latter?
my email is tmcalavy@llano.net if you don't like posting to boards.

The 90 Super cab is a good truck, what trans does it have? If it is an auto overdrive (AOD) Then you will probaly have problems with it if you plan on towing. If the trans is a 5 Speed it is a ZF trans. These trans are ok but use ATF Fluid and you need to check them all the time, I have seen many of these trucks loose trans do to low oil level or no oil.
