So if I’ve missed it sorry, I have two 22 Superduty trucks and want to add the third brake light camera. I already have the one in the bumper and the big screen. What do I need to add OEM camera for the third brake light??
I believe you need to buy the camera, CHMSL 3rd Brake light, harness, and appropriate radio bezel with the camera button, plus needing to turn on the right modules with Forscan or IDS.
There's a thread on here somewhere where a member was trying to do that. He bought camera, harness, etc and ultimately hit a roadblock that it wasn't (practically) possible, IIRC. Remember something about image processing modules or something. I was following that thread because that is the only regret I have from ordering my truck, not spending the extra $200 for the CHMSL camera.
appreciate al the replys, no camera button so sound like I'm SOL. Can't go magnetic either with the aluminum bed & cab, maybe a license frame camera mounted in side on the tool box, I did find one hooked into the OEM harness. OEM camera harness
I searched for the same thing because I will eventually want one..... Came across what looks like a pretty good setup offered by trailer, adds a camera under the third brake light and gets wired into the factory radio harness, activated with an up fitter switch when in reverse, so you can switch between tailgate camera and bed camera.

I don't have the up fitters in this truck, wish I did. The space for the up fitter I believe is full of other control switches.
You could just wire it to a switch and mount it wherever you want. They just do an up fitter in the video cuz they're pre-wired in. I like the fact that it's plugged into the main screen and can flip back and forth
