What is a bed bushing ? if you mean something like the cab bushings you won't find anything because there aren't any.
Yeah, from the factory, the bed bolts directly to the frame. There are no insulators.
One thing I have seen though is a strip of webbing placed the length of the frame rail to "cushion" the bed and help stop any squeaks. No idea if that works.
X2 on NO actual rubber bushings used on the bed mount area. Maybe a couple of odd shaped metal washers that are beveled to act as leveling shims?? X2 now if you have an aftermarket body lift, then you can have rubber or polyurethane spacer blocks 1", 2", 3" back there and under the rest of the trucks 4 cab mounts and the front clip (core support 2).
From what I am reading here, there or no bushing on the bed of the truck? Bolted straight to the frame? Maybe I should ask about cab bushings? The bed is not parallel with the cab, the driver side of the bed is higher than the passenger about a inch on flat ground.
Also, if you are measuring from the bed to the ground you have a lot of other things to take into account. Tire size, air pressure, spring condition, frame straightness, etc.
Unless you measure between the top of the axle tube and the bottom of the frame you won’t know what is causing the problem.
It’s certainly possible that the bed is bent from carrying heavy loads for 40 years, but it’s not the only possibility.
Once again I really don't know what I am doing I am just winging it, I didn't realize that there are no bed bushing. So now I will looking at the cab mounts and at other thing. The original owner was hauling a 24' Air Stream with it. Thanks for the info. It's a learning process for me. Dummy questions are better than dummy mistakes. This thread explains alot Bed to cab width query. - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)
The cab bushings could be shot. and Ford did use special washers under the bed to line things up. but any large washer with a 1/2" hole will work. I always have to shim a little it seems.
Teflon leaf spring liner is really good to put between the bed and frame and it's also pretty cheap..like $20 for a small roll of it. It's thin enough that it doesn't alter body lines enough to notice and it's extremely durable. It not soft and doesn't really compress like rubber pads, so it maintains a solid connection to the frame, which these trucks need, the bed is a big part of the rear frame/suspension rigidity.
