The Problems I'm having Started when I ran the truck completely out of fuel. I put 5 gallons of diesel in the fuel tank And put fuel in the fuel bowl. And after 5 minutes of trying to get it to start art if finally started up. But it had a really rough idol sounded like it was missing So I figured that there was just some air in the line and I had to drive it Some before it would smooth out, Which it never did and and it was smoking really bad on start up, idle and while under acceleration and the misfire never went away. When I'm driving it smells like someone lite a grilling with charcoal fluid. Also before this happened in the winter when I had it plugged in and went to start it seemed to almost hydrolock and after many attempts it would start and oil would be leaking for 5 mins until it warmed up. And on top of that I had the ground to run a ground wire to my fuel pump when it left me broke down on the highway during a snow storm. I pulled these codes as well p0113, p1119, p1140, p0230, p0603, p1216, abd p1105. Any input would help since this is my first deisel. Thank you

P0113 IAT sensor... Read the sensor when cold it should read ambient if not likely bad, might be the wiring.

P1119 Manifold Air Temp Sensor.... Read the sensor when cold it should read ambient if not likely bad, might be the wiring.

P1140 Water in Fuel.... Drain the fuel bowl, you have water in the system and likely sucked it up when you ran the tank down... If you do not know the tank condition I would suggest never going below 1/4 tank unless you can prove or have done the Hutch/ Harpoon mod. Also put some fuel treatment in the tank, maybe some Power Service Clear Diesel and Tank Cleaner.

P0230.. Fuel Pump Relay Low Voltage.. You bypassed this to get the pump running. Replace the relay (maybe) and check the wiring and fuse.

P0603.. KAM.. Not a big deal, PCM needs to be re-set. just drive the truck and keep the batteries charged. It will go away. Usually happens when the batteries are disconnected or the PCM fuse blows.

P1105.. Suspect an alternator problem. What is the charge voltage while running? If the engine is not running properly this may also be an issue. Are your batteries at 12.6 volts minimum when resting? If not put them on a proper charger, you will fry your alternator trying to bring low batteries up to specification. If your batteries can not hold at least 12.6 volts after being off the charger for a few hours take them to a truck stop and have them tested, the corner store can not test them properly. Weak or bad batteries and a bad charging system will cause all sorts of issues.

P1216.. That is an issue with your accelerator pedal if I remember correctly. May just need a good cleaning, check the plugs as well.

This should get you started.

What did you use to pull the codes?

Sorry for my delayed reply, i got very busy. Thank you for looking up the codes fior me and getting me started. So I decided to pull the valve covers off to replace the injector o-rings and discovered that the push rod mount broke, the one that goes underneath the injector. I attached a picture of it. Now am I able to just replace the mount or and I screwed??? It looks like it just snap in half with out shattering or have shards of it come off and reck havack... let me know what you think..

He hydrolock symptoms and leaking oil are likely a result of the broken valve connector you discovered. The smoking could easily be related also. While you have the valve covers off, I highly recommend testing all your glowplugs. You'll need a multimeter to measure Ohms. I don't remember what they should be, but you can find it by google easily enough. I'd also check continuity of all the through the valve cover gasket wire harness connections. Good luck!
