If you can go without a truck, pull the trigger now. I keep seeing stories about how the bottom is going to drop out of the used vehicle market by the end of 2022. Might all be toro-poop, I can't say for sure.
My analysis, the potential maximum upside for waiting is maybe $5000 assuming the demand for used trucks stays steady. Your maximum downside risk, assuming the used vehicle values go into the toilet, could be $10,000-$25,000.
Just my opinion, based on flawed data and an excess of bourbon. Your mileage may vary. Consult your doctor before starting any exercise program.

Can't see this happening unless we go into a recession, which we're not far from, so you're probably not far off on your post.
If you can sell it for that price, do it now and order the new truck when you can. If for some reason you need a truck for hunting or moving cattle rent it short term.
I'm not saying I don't believe you but...
Punched my info in carvana. My truck is 2 model years newer, diesel, 4wd, platinum ultimate with several options most of them don't have.
My offer was significantly lower than what you quoted. My truck has never been on salted roads, never wrecked, and close to immaculate. Drove it about a 100 miles yesterday. Every time I drive it I fall in love all over again. It's not my daily driver.
I'd run it by the dealer but just not that motivated.
Unfortunately long bed Platinums are hard to come by, that’s why I have to order. Also the dealers in area don’t order the dark Marsala.
If you want dark marsala interior, you wont find it in a 23. 22 is the last year for it. Looks like Carmello will be the 23 interior alternate to black. I have on order a 22 Platinum long bed with the marsala interior and 5th wheel prep. Will probably arrive in January if it indeed does get built. Since I wont be buying it, and I do know the owner of the dealership, if interested you can have first dibs at it.
As far as values, sell it now if you can, months down the road the values will be far less than they are now as well as higher interest rates, so the market is cooling quickly. You will be in better position with selling it now and not dealing with a trade or anything when you do find the right truck.
F-150 interior that is being carried over to the SD.

Carvana isnt a very good forecaster for truck values. I had my 2020 bid last Dec. The truck was low miles in perfect condition. Carvana's offer was off five thousand what the dealer was willing and did pay. The truck brought sticker price when new. I dont trust carvana.
