I am in the process of building a travel trailer. The donor trailer is from a mid 1970's prowler (18'). I want the footprint to be 8' wide. In order to do so I need to install a few more outriggers to both side in order to hold up the walls and roof. I will be using wood for the walls and such. How many outriggers would I need for each side? I have 5 right now on each side which are original to the trailer.
Wide enough to support the full width of the wall footer.
My toy hauler is a wide body. A bit wider than 8'. I would have to look at the supports on mine, but my recollection is that they go all the way to the outside edge of the wall.
My Jayco is 36' and it has at least 8 on each side extending out to the edge. If memory serves me, they're about 4'' wide at the frame and taper down to the outside edge.
