Ya maybe a turn signal switch is in order. I can get the brake lights to work on the right filament now, but the 4 way wont flash out back or on the dash with the brake on. They light up just don't flash, let off the brake and they flash.
Not real sure, but I think it was the two red wires that go to the 4 way flasher only one of the red wires had power. ,The wiring mess at the rear of the truck/one bad socket and cleaned up the grounds. Alot of trial and error.4 ways work, except when the brakes are on, it doesn't flash and stays solid. Maybe that's how it works
Yes, that’s how it works.
On newer trucks they have figured out how to bypass all that issue, but on our trucks if you push on the brake the 4-ways stop flashing.
Just as when you put on the brake the selected turn signal still works because it’s all controlled through the turn signal switch.
