78 F150 - Brake Light Issue

Looking for some direction because my brake lights randomly quit working with the lights off. However, the turn signals still work. All lights work including the brake lights when they are turned on. I replaced the brake sensor, but it didn’t fix the issue. What should be my next step before replacing the turn signal switch?

Thanks!

I think a lot of times, these intermittent problems can be traced to a bad ground...
Maybe check the grounds?

The ground wire inside the sockets is a 2 piece part and can corrode. You could have good ground on the wire going into socket but the tab that touches the bulb may not. Just something to check.

For anyone else going through this issue:

check fuse
check wiring and grounds
check brake sensor
lastly, check the housing for the light bulbs - it was odd that this turned out to be the issue, but sure enough the cracks in both plastic housing’s were the issue.
