Registration Question

I am trying to do a bill of sale-only registration for my 1946 1.5 ton ("VIN" 99T-xxxxx) using the Vermont Loophole. As part of the process, the state of Vermont requests proof of the value of the truck so that they can calculate appropriate sales tax. Unfortunately, I'm having a lot of trouble finding a value for the truck... it doesn't appear in the NADA guides unless I'm totally missing it.

Does anyone have any proof of valuation that I could submit with my paperwork? Or if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be fantastic. Thanks so much!

Has Vermont given you any indication as to what is acceptable 'proof of value'? I can't imagine having enough reported sales of 46 1.5 ton trucks to NADA for a clear and accurate valuation. Perhaps you could try to find craigslist ads from around the country for trucks like yours in similar condition, hopefully for $500 that will fit your needs. Have you tried to submit a sworn affidavit from the seller with the agreed price listed?
