Is this like the carfax reports? I got a carfax report when I bought my truck and they said that it was fine and no accidents, but the very first thing I did when I brought it to the delear was that it was in an accident. Will that show up and where do I find info on the oasis reports. Also, can anybody look a VIN up for me, I appreciate it, thanks!
I know it shows any repairs, recalls, or work done to your truck. It's Ford's "in-house" records on your truck.
BTW - don't EVER believe Carfax - I had a "friend" who had a truck that was 6 months old and was t-boned - 14,000 worth of repair - and it never showed up in Carfax.
Yeah I know, I am finding that out as I go along, apparently it was in an accident and did;nt show up on CarFax. Can anybody get access to Oasis and check to see if my truck really was in an accident?
I understand that OASIS only keeps a year of data on a vehicle and only records warranty work.
I had a coworker that had a Ford Exploder. Bought it new. Never in a wreck. Went to sell it and Carfax said it had been totalled and salvaged. She called Carfax and Carfax said they are not responsible for the information they are given. She would have to get a certification from the State that the car had not been salvaged and provide that to Carfax. Sort of like credit bureaus.
Apparantly you do if you sign up for the service, but I did the cheap version where you just get to look at one vehicle, stupid me, but hopefully I'll get my truck back later on today and everything will be A-O-K.
