I have a 2004 Ford expedition 5.4 l 200,000 plus miles a few years back I had to park it to do a repair (power steering pump) and when I got it back up and running the automatic lights stopped working, the dome lights do not come on and off with the doors opening and closing, and when I turn off the vehicle the stereo stays energized until the kill switch kicks and it shuts everything down, which then a turn gave me a parasitic draw that I'm having issues trying to track down, what all would be linked together that would cause all of these problems, I've checked fuses and relays to the best of liability, and when I try to do a parasitic draw test soon as I disconnect the battery all of that stuff that was on before then shuts off and does not come back on it till I turn the key on, which makes doing a parasitic draw test almost impossible without a voltage clamp that is designed specifically for car batteries, thanks for any assistance anybody can give me.
It's hard to believe how complex your vehicle and the newer ones are. You have a module contained in the instrument cluster that controls a Accessory delay relay located in the underdash fuse box. You also have a vehicle security module which controls most of the body functions. I am not sure where that is in your vehicle. It could be mice have chewed some wires somewhere, or there is some corrosion in a plug somewhere. Unless you have a fancy scanner and a network break-out box, and a lot of know-how, it's hard to figure something like this out.
