Truck starts every time in 2-3 seconds but it seems that to get my oil gauge (dummy switch) to move it happens after 5 seconds. Kinda don’t like the engine running and the oil gauge at 0 for a second or two.
Could this be an oil drain back issue? Running a motorcraft filter and cap. LPOP is new with the recent rebuild. No other mechanical issues that I Know of.
Drain back valve in the oil filter housing.
Push the drain back valve down with a long object and run the starter (fender cable). Note the time till the housing is full and repeat the test with a new valve.

how many seconds does it take from when you crank the start to the oil gauge moving?
I just checked mine for comparison. First cold start was ~ 4 seconds to move the needle. I shut down and repeated immediately and it took ~1.5 seconds to move the needle.

interesting thanks for proving that information. Maybe it’s normal? Going to test mine again this morning and upload to YouTube.
it seems that the oil filter maybe draining back?
hopefully not hurting the motor. Going to have to figure out if it’s the anti drain back valve or the oil filter drain valve
That looks very much like mine. Maybe we both have a problem. Would be nice to get a bigger sampling of starts.
I agree. I can’t remember how it was before the rebuild I did. Never really paid attention. I ordered an $8 oil filter drain valve so ill start there. When I did the rebuild it got a new anti drain back valve and oil cooler bypass valve so im fairly confident it’s not those brass valves. When I first got the truck the previous 1 owner had a WiX filter installed and maybe just maybe the aftermarket filters broke the valve and I never noticed.
Often times the gauge itself is delayed in its response. I think it is probably that instead of an actual delay in reaching 7 psig.
My main concern is in the second video the gauge responds almost immediately. I had the key on for a number of seconds before cranking so I assume that everything is awake. Do you have any videos showing the gauge response im genuinely curious now
Both of my trucks behave very similar to your videos. Overnight start it takes a few seconds, restarts are almost instantaneous. Curious your results with a new valve, might turn out to be a wear item? Or might be something else like the LPOP regulator valve leaking by?

just for reference my engine was overhauled completely but the LPOP regulator was reused but new LPOP gears cover and pretty much everything else. I’ll do an update video with the new oil filter drain valve
