voltage regulator

62 F100 223 voltage regulator has 4 prong hook up. BFA prongs on one side and single prong back of ignition switch. I am doubtful of its operation so I would like to replace. I can only find the 3 prong offered on several parts websights, None have the 4th prong to to key switch. Will this be an issue? Perhaps new regulators have this internally taken care of.

The "I" terminal supplies that voltage thru the charge indicator light. In your case if someone converted to an alternator, they may have connected the "I" ignition terminal to the ignition switch. Not the way it's supposed to be, but it will work.
