Rust Coverter
There are several different rust converter products available, POR-15, PV Blaster has some, and evapo-rust, etc...etc...
POR-15 seems to be a great product but their website has about 5 or 7 different products that all deal with rust, and prevention, and priming, and blah, blah. I am good at figuring out what to use most of the time but all the products POR-15 has it is hard to decide, plus all choices are very expensive !!!!!!!
Anyone got any suggestions on what products to use ? I want to stop the rust , prevent it from coming back. I will not paint the truck any time soon, well at least for a month or so.
The body seams and door corners, and all other common areas that are prone to rust I plan to prime and hopefully paint in a month or so. I do not know if I will paint the whole truck or not. I may actually clear coat it to keep the patina...........
If I clear coat it I need a product that converts rust to a reddish color !!! The one I use now converts it to black . The reddish color will blend in great with my rusted patina motif !!! ha

Check with an auto paint store. I don't remember the brand they recommended here, but it wasn't POR-15. But it converted to black also. I have not seen one that converts to red, but I don't have a lot of experience with rust converters.

I also dont know of any that dont turn black?
I used Ospho acid I bought in a gallon jug off Ebay I think it was and pour it into a spray bottle.
I used it on the frame of my truck before painting and any rust on the body before doing body work & paint.
I built my truck as a driver / weekly trash run truck but if I know it will rain I dont take it out of the garage to drive to work.
But like yesterday coming home from a show it rained and other than getting the truck dirty so I got to wash it it was not a big deal.
Heck it gets wet when I wash it when needed right.
