Does anyone know how much fluid I need for doing and trans filter change. I do have the 6.4 filter upgrade already. I was planning on 2 5 quart jugs of LV.
Thanks guys, I have 2 5quart jugs on the way from Rockauto. Now I need your opinion, on the TP filter in the front. Replace or not? it has 30k on it. The pan filter will be replaced.
I vote for replacing it. While it's not getting the amount of debris as before, there's no way to qualify that. And since it is so cheap if you get the NTZ version, its hard even for me to let go.
The guy on the other shoulder says keep it in for two changes.
Keep the filter in it, or remove the assembly and plumb around it.
Running it without the filter messes with the bypass port in the housing.
You want the oil to take the correct path.
Agree, just replace it while its apart. Cant hurt... the filter costs nothing compared to the fluid. I found a better deal on Amazon for Motorcraft LV than Rock Auto when bought it about a month ago...
