There is (or was) a card with the code stuffed inside the pouch that holds the owner's manual. It's also printed somewhere around the passenger compartment, but I don't recall exactly where.
I put it into a secure storage vault that I can access online.
When I bought my used 2017 Ford Fusion Sport, it didn't come with a door code card in the owner's manual. I went online and found a YouTube video detailing how to recover the keyless entry passcode, but don't remember having to have both keys to do it. I'm pretty sure that both the CPU and the keyless entry wiring harness inside the door are both tagged with the factory passcode, too. My 2020 F-150 doesn't have a keyless entry.
In my honest opinion , it’s worth having a second key , I bought one on eBay and had Ford program it
(then you can easily get code , plus other privileges
