I need to get the code for my door keypad. On my Explorer that I bought from Carmax back in 2000 the guy showed me to get the code by looking at the actual box which in the 98 explorer, you can see by removing the cover to the jack storage area and you can see the box and the code is marked on that box.
Is it the same way on the Excursion? Where is the door lock controller located on the Excursion?
i've heard you can get the code off of the VSM on 6.0 equipped trucks...it's a small module which is a little hard to get to...it's on the firewall, just to the right of center...i'd pull out the stereo to start...
there is a sticker on that with your door code...
worst case, take it to the dealer..they should be able to get it by your VIN or hooking it up to their computer..

It's a lot easier to take it to the dealer, especially if you do business with them...Next time you take it in for service or repeir, just say casually that you'd like the door code.. You don't need for them to reset it for you..I went to the Ford stealer right after I got my "X" to check on service prices ( $150) and to get the door code and they wanted $100 to get the code and reset. The Lincoln dealer charges me $100 for service, and washes and vacumns the front , and nothing for the code..Have discovered that the local Ford guy is higher on everything. Like $5 for a headlite **** and $25 on the rubber "X" floor mats and on..
Try following this link to some directions...I've never tried it...but it is worth a try.
Also there may be a credit card sized card in the owners manual with the factory set code...did you check there?...just a thought before you go thru this...
