MUSTY SMELL W/ AIR COND. USE

What causes the musty smell when i use my air cond. How can i fix the problem? Thanks, Tim

You do not say what vehicle you have but Ford has issued some TSBs on that subject. ray

MUSTY SMELL W/ AIR COND. USE

Easiest thing to check is the drain on the evaporator box inside the cab. It's where the moisture collects after the air is cooled and the moisture is pulled out of the air. It should be draining outside, but if the drain is plugged up, the pooling water can begin to mildew.

MUSTY SMELL W/ AIR COND. USE

If everything seems to be working and draining ok,try turning the dial to "vent" a few minutes before you shut it off.I have heard this can help.
