Seriously, this has to be near the top of the list as one of the longest running threads ever! If not in post count then at least in the amount of time it's been

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What an awesome reply Ken

I dont think storming in here with 29 posts under your belt and thumbing your nose at the boss is usually considered a good idea.

Spit my gatorade out of my mouth when I read that reply.....

If they would just read that it is not only because of spam but the web crawlers requesting pages when they see them... -But then they aren't paying the bandwidth bill.

Hey Eric (since you are the closest to me) have you heard, and what do you think of the new law that Iowa just passed (I think it just passed the legislature but not signed yet)making it illegal to send spam, spyware, and viruses to a computor, or use web crawlers that do damage. And do think that would even be enforceable. I am just curious if it's gonna hae any affect.
Ken or others are welcome to respond to that just figured Eric is only one state away so might have actually heard about it.

I think any law is only as good as the people that can enforce.

How easy or how long would it be to go after thousands of spammers to shut them down.

I don't have any idea how they would enforce it.

Anti-spam laws have no teeth... the spammers simply move off-shore.

when i ordered an AIS filter for my truck last week, i got screwed. someone intercepted my credit card info, and charge over $500 on my card, even though i caught it and had the card shut down within 2 days... so, anything you do to protect my info is GREATLY appreciated...!

What was the end result? Did you get stung for the $500? That would suck big time!

i got in touch with the visa card company, i just have to send in last months statement and identify which charges were not mine, then they open a new account for me, leave the fraudulent charges on the old account, and send me a new card... meanwhile, i can't use my card... that means.... no more mods for my truck for 30-60 days...! and THAT truly SUCKS...!
