Hi everyone,
Yet another old guy, always fixing vehicles.
2015 Expedition
1997 Ranger
1990 F-150
2013 F-250 Diesel (work truck)
Question will be out soon as I qualify.
Thanks
Thanks Morris,
Guess I'm in now so I can start with my issue. My son has the 1990 F-150. When he first got it, it was running fine. Then is started having very rough running and idle, plus no power. I did all the inexpensive, easy to replace stuff (shotgun approach.
Plugs, wires, ignition coin, cap+rotor, MAP sensor, all 3 EGR main components, vacuum leak check, Fuel filter (actually semi plugged, but no cigar), PCV valve, fuel pressure regulator (very hard to reach back bolt), and 160 degree thermostat (runs better colder).
The problem is intermittent, so difficult to analyze. Finally we pulled the ECC. It had a bad looking capacitor, so we are going to replace. Here is the deal: its a E9TF XXXXX AM2A. Its hard to find (and expensive) to find the AM2A. I wonder if the AMA will work?
If you know anyone who has info, please pass along.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks Tom!
I'm on the west coast but I have a close friend (a New Yorker) who now lives in the Pennsylvania countryside!
I have a golden AND a basset hound to race about and keep the family too busy.
Cheers
