Hey I need some help with my 97 f350
the power shuts off but I know my battery has power
It shut off sometime when I go to start it
I loose all power and have to jump start it to turn on
I was told it could be the starter solenoid
Your fender mounted solenoid would not cause you to lose all power. That replacement battery cable end could, but if a boost gets you started I would bet the inside of that replacement end where it hooks onto the battery post being dirty is your problem. Either there or the inside of the other battery cable where it hooks onto its battery post.
Bottom line here remove both battery cables from their battery posts and clean the outsides of the battery posts and the insides of the cables where they hook onto the battery posts. Also clean that replacement connector inside and out. Clean all these connections shiny clean and make sure they tighten up securely.
Yep. This is a common symptom of dirty/poor battery terminals. Get some real battery cables from your favorite auto parts store with the terminal swaged to the cables. The bolt-on terminals don't perform well over time.
