My NSS on the c6 keeps failing. I know about the jumper on the harness side to get it to start. I want to put an inside switch for the reverse lights. How do bypass the NSS for the reverse light like I did to make it start? Pretty much had enough replacing the NSS.
the same way you did to bypass the start circuit, except instead of a jumper across the reverse light circuit, run two wires to a SPST toggle...
my recommendation is to find a better quality neutral start switch and remove the start circuit jumper so nobody accidentally gets ran over when the truck starts in gear...
I am assuming the other 2 pins are for reverse. Is that right? If I jumper the other 2 pins, the reverse light should come on I should ask, what wires should I use to put in a switch to make my reverse lights work.

You can usually fix them. After getting it apart You can use small screws to put it back together. The spring usually breaks. A ball point pen spring works.
X2 get a quality replacement switch. Not the cheapest one off Amazon just saying that in case that is where you have been getting parts. That can save you from a truck that starts and the choke is on (high idle) and that turns into an accident.
"When the trucks came with a manual trans, there was a dummy plug used to bypass the NSS switch. I've never been able to come up with a part number for the dummy plug. To bypass the automatic set up: Unplug the switch and discard or ignore. There are four wires in the harness plug, two each, red w/ blue trace and black w/ red trace. Run a jumper between the red/blue and red/blue, do the same for the black/red.That completely bypasses the NSS switch. Your truck will now start and the back-up lights will be permanently on. Now on to the backup lights. In the engine compartment is a little U shaped jumper wire. It'll be located on the drivers side splash pan, just in front of the firewall where the wiring harness comes through.Unplug the little jumper, this will shut off the back up lights. There should be a back up light switch on the trans cover. Run two wires from the switch to the two wires that were jumped. This will get your back up lights working again. Just a note, you could make a jumper plug out of the NSS. Cut the switch off the harness and splice the two pairs of wires. I just hate to cut these switches up. New, they're getting pricey. Here's the little jumper in the engine compartment.
EDIT: If you don't care about the back up lights, just jumper the red w/ blue trace wires. This will by pass the NSS but the back up lights won't work."
And get a toggle switch that is illuminated when turned on so you have the reminder that the switch is on. And I'd get a quality flip down cover style to be able to shut if off easier than having a toggle switch to fumble for. And depending on where you mount it, that switch can be a shin banger if mounted on the knee bolster/banger (lower part of the dash), to the L/H side of the steering wheel.
