U-joint Sizing

I have a 1971 2wd with short tail shaft C6 with a bolt on yoke and a 2-piece drive shaft. The issue I'm having is that the transmission yoke and the drive shaft need different size u-joints but no one seems to carry a u-joint like that. The cap sizes are the same at 1" but it's 3.2" outside to outside on the drive shaft and 3.6" outside to outside on the yoke. The PO had just eyeball centered the u-joint on the yoke and tightened it down which seemed to work okay but is obviously not right. All the auto parts stores only carry a 3.2x3.2 u-joint for this truck. So I either have the wrong yoke or someone must make this asymmetrical u-joint. Anyone have any ideas?

Try this:

And this from Dana Spicer. You didn't say if it was an F-100 or 250 so I chose F-100.

If your caps are 1.063 and both side are external snap rings it should be a 353 u joint.

Yes, that’s the one I need. I found the same in a Moog 253 and have it on order through O’Riely.

This are all 3.2 in both directions which is what I have now that don’t fit the yoke right.

I answered that in your other thread and gave you a link to a FoMoCo part.

I have no idea about the speedo seal, but you have the wrong "U" joint on the driveshaft. You need one that is referred to as a big and little 1310/1330. Most parts stores will give you the wrong U joint if you aren't paying attention. Read the description you will see the dimensions are different. Disregard the fitment Ford used that type of "U" joint on a gazillion different vehicles.
