Home Integration System Info & Ford Intelligent Backup System

Alright so, I bought this truck for a lot of reasons but one of the main ones is that as far as utlity and multi use it is one of the best vehicles. I dont know about the other makes and models, I am sure they are good too but just going with what I have and know. The battery alone would cost over half the price of the truck and so for a solar system it makes perfect sense. Now the HIS has been a problem mainly because A lot of people do not want to get solar in the entire Sunrun package. To Sunrun's credit, I cannot honestly blame them because what do they get out of the deal besides "installing an inverter, battery, and other module"? If I was Sunrun CEO it would help to not be as ambitious with trying to get $30k-$50k solar panel system on top of the HIS. If you are thinking about HIS, start with 4 solar panels just so you can see how beneficial the entire ecosystem can be. Do I have one? Nope because they are sold out for nobody knows how long, the Ford Charge Station Pro is also having severe issues with overheating and is also sold out.

Now with all of that out of the way, what some of us are discovering is that the FCSP "almost has" to be able to act as a passthrough for straight DC in both directions. This is revealed by the Delta BDI schematic that shows DC voltage only going to the truck and another battery. Well it has to be able to charge the truck as well because if it didnt it would make the solar panels pointless and where would you charge the truck if not the solar panels? Now for the folks who already have a complete solar system setup AND who happen to have a DC to DC converter. You may with a few mods and a FCSP or modified OpenEVSE be able to "slow DC charge" your F150 Lightning with that setup. The unknown factor is the Ford Intelligent Smart Backup which has very little info about whether its pure software, if you HAVE to pair it with the FCSP, etc. The current literature says as much but there are only 2 people so far that have come online as saying they have the entire HIS installed.

The bottom line up front is that for professional sportsmen like myself and just normal sportsman who are offgrid or go to an offgrid cabin. This is literally one of the best buys 70k could ever do with a partial, kind of, or other type of setup. The truck literature says that a bed camper is not recommended, but I have a feeling its because of the non LT tires more than anything. Anyways, feel free to correct me or comment, this is really exciting.
